I was super inspired by an old WIP LugiaDialga (or Mandy, or queen, or whatever) did, so I started my own take on Palkia's Onslaught. I don't know what exactly it will evolve into, but most likely a full blown reorchestration. I'm working with a few different samples, and I have mastered the clip I'll post here.
I'm seeking first impressions mostly. So, more or less if you think it sounds good so far why / why not, etc. and for more advanced (meaning people who have been producing music for longer than a year, let's say) musicians, while I'd love your personal take on it too, if you have any suggestions or advice regarding technical things I could do to make it better, go nuts.

What a coincidence. This song is second-to-next on the PMD2RMP list, hahaha
Anyway this sounds pretty good! Everything is clear and leveled well, and the stereo field is utilized well, and I think the reverb you have is perfect.
Looking forward to how it develops!

I took a screenshot of this and I'm framing it. Thanks for the kind word, Jami! I'll keep you posted on my progress, and stuff. Can't wait to hear your version too! It's a pretty underappreciated song, so I'm glad it's got some love! Yeah, I messed around a ton with Platinumverb and Space Designer, and I really wanted to construct a layered effect with the reverb, so I moved it around a bit for each instrument, and I think it just gives it an awesome realistic sort of sound! I do need to fix the heck out of the trumpets though, like holy Arceus crap do I. They seem a bit too loud to me, but I may just be being picky haha.

In regards to the trumpets, I think they're a tiny bit too far forward and the attack is a bit too strong on them. I always fail miserably at making good-sounding trumpets so good luck to you
