I'm just going to make a thread here for all stuff relating to my fangame music. The music I'm working on can be found here: briman0094.com/fangame/The stuff I mainly need feedback on are Hoenn's Route 101 and the "TrainerBattle" song which is an original piece for our unique region. I think 104 sounds pretty good now but I'm not sure if it sounds finished yet. Feel free to give feedback on anything you find in that list!

I need some advice on Hoenn Route 101...I can't get the woodwinds to sound right. I'm using a piccolo for the lead and an oboe for the harmony but the woodwind sounds like trash to me right now. Any advice? Linky-link

I'm working on the song for the second town now...I'm actually using it for a class project for my MUS107 Music Theory class too. Can I get some feedback on it? I think it sounds fairly decent so far but I'm iffy about the strings and wonder if there might be a better instrument I can replace them with. Linky: puu.sh/fJf8n.mp3obviously it's not finished so it cuts off rather awkwardly at 00:18...prepare your ears for a sudden black hole formation

Definitely sounds like a good start! (and it's already stuck in my head <_<) I'd probably reduce the volume of the marimba, though, because it kind of overpowers the main melody in the flute.
What sort of town are you making this for, as well? Part of the iffiness with the strings is probably that it comes with a noticeable delay compared to the "punchy" percussion (as does the flute to a lesser degree, but that can probably be fixed by shortening the notes a bit), so depending on which direction you were planning to go, you could replace the strings with some sort of reggae-style guitar shots, or if that's too "islandy" for the town, maybe have an acoustic guitar strum pattern instead or use some sort of piano or EP?

Possibly. I managed to get the strings sounding a bit better and I could probably add some strums in addition to the strings. It's for the second town of our tropical region; think Oldale town but located on a beach.
