It just has to be the most generic theme I've ever heard in a Pokemon game, if not ANY video game...

Eh, I've heard worse and more basic music in a game

All it really is is his regular theme replaced almost entirely with the electric guitar (which ? honestly doesn't fit Wally at all, I think). Also the fact that it only takes 45 seconds to loop is a huge turn off for me. The possibility existed for so much more imagination to be put into that theme, but alas. At least the battlefield looked awesome I guess.

When I first heard it, I actually spit out my coffee I was laughing so hard. It sounds like a really, really generic 80's montage theme, and I don't like that. It really, really made no sense in the context of Wally's character, and it destroyed the gorgeous atmosphere. They could have done something really neat, but oooooh noooo they haaaaaaad to invest all of their efforts into Zinnia's battle music. Wally got a crap battle theme, and that sucks.

I have to say that Wally's theme was... Interesting to say in the least. When it first played, I just looked at my screen for a while just stunned. I just questioned why they used such a strange theme for Wally that didn't even fit his personality at all. Sure, I could see that they were trying to say "Wally grew up", but he didn't become like an amazing super trainer to deserve a theme like that. Heck, the theme itself is really repetitive as well and just feels extremely stale. So yes, it sucks, but it's also something to wonder as to why Gamefreak would put in a soundtrack like that. I really just want to know that.

When I first heard it, I thought it was good...but then listening closer while battling it was like it stayed on repeated on a 40 second loop of just a more electric guitar like sound to his original theme which started to get old really fast. I dunno I guess it's just the meaning behind it rather than the sound showing just how far he's come since you both started.
Though I'd have to agree with happydragonite there, it seems like they invested a lot more effort into Zinnia's battle theme more than the others.

I'm surprised...I thought everybody loved that theme. Everybody who frequents the game lab at my school loves it, at least. I agree it could be longer and a bit more spiced-up, but I still love it. At least he got his own theme, right?

Wally's theme is pretty good. It sounds like a poor man's version of some Dynasty Warriors music and I don't think it really fits into Pokémon as a battle theme (then again, I never played ORAS far enough to actually get to battle Wally on Victory Road). Let me say, at least it's different from the usual fast tempo same sounding nonsense Masuda usually delivers to us.

I don't think the theme itself is that great musically, and it's certainly jarring at first.
But I like the idea that it reflects Wally's newfound sense of drive and confidence. Sure, the tune is generic, short, and kind of cheesy, but maybe that's because this mindset is all new to Wally - he's still learning, still figuring things out. But he's no longer just a timid, sick kid.
I like it. It made me tear up a little bit, in a campy sort of way.

I am gonna cry for a million years because nobody likes this theme. It's like my fourth favorite theme in the entire game. I thought it sounded pretty badass and really reminded me of Dynasty Warrior music for some reason. I like the themes that DO NOT sounds like Pokemon themes because that reallyyyy makes them unique and pretty damn cool to be honest (which is why Zinnia's theme is my top fave battle theme in the game). Plus guitars man, guitars.

I don't hate it, but I was pretty disappointed with the length of the loop. I like that they tried to shake things up and defy expectations there, I certainly wasn't expecting that tune to come on. It's a bit generic and not my favorite standalone piece, but I think it served its purpose well. The general audience certainly seems to love it, that's for sure. Guitars garner instant favor with anyone :3

I like it. A lot. I'd go as far to say it's my tied favourite battle theme for ORAS along with Zinnia's theme.
Why do I like it? One, it's unexpected. It's so different to every other battle theme in the whole game, it doesn't have an encounter track and starts playing outside the battle... when you walk into that area, you do not expect that.
Two, it fits Wally and that battle. You helped him become a trainer, he's reached the point where he can stand up to you, and he's not giving up. It would probably have been more impressive had the battle been hard, but at that time, in that location... it worked.
Three... I actually just really like the track itself. I'm not really sure why. It's annoying that the loop is so short, but just about everything else makes up for that.
So, yeah. I might not like it enough to put it on 10-hour repeat, but I do like it a lot.

I loved it with its simplicity. It didn't need much detail in the song to illustrate the mood of Wally battling.
The first time I was playing --or watching my brother play emerald--- I thought wally was wallace. This theme clearly made him different. yeah.
No really I love it.
