I just realized this parallelism, and it took me this long These themes both have a similar tune and both play when characters are disappearing.. I think. Which one do you prefer? In the Morning Sun: Don't Ever Forget:

Honestly, I like Don't Ever Forget better, mostly for story reasons; it hits a lot closer to home (being yourself and the partner) and happens at the climax of the main story (not to mention the "repeat value" sort of lessens the effect for the side episode). But I think they're comparable in terms of how well-orchestrated they are as individual tracks--so nostalgia takes the win for me.

I chose "In the Morning Sun" because it appeals as more than sad, but as a struggle, especially as the pitch changes around 1:25.
That buildup alone can tell the story of the side episode. In my opinion, that melody strikes a nerve. It screams at me the motif of not giving up till the bitter end.
