Honestly, I've been working on this PMD:GtI Piano Medley and the PMD: Gates to Infinity's music been a struggle. Figuring out how what the time signatures have caused me quite a bit of trouble are because it seems to be changing constantly in some songs. And since my music program only accepts time signatures (since it's a sheet music writer (Finale PrintMusic 2008) and not one of your guy's program that just stick to a constant beat), I'll have to figure each of these songs out or have a bunch of 1/4 and 3/8 measures filling up space on my sheet.
For example, Kilionea Road (clicking on the link will bring you to the time I'm pointing at), it's seems to change from 4/4 to 3/4 for a couple of measures, then 2/4 for one measure, then 4/4 for one measure, then 3/4 for two measures, then 2/4 one more measure, then stays to 3/4 again. Note that Kilionea Road starts out in 4/4.
Then Forest of Shadows... Oh jeez. Where do I even start on this fun song? So it seems to be in a #/8 theme at the least, but there's no constant time stamp. The first four measures seem to swap between 6/8 and 10/8 before swapping between 6/8 and 3/8, with the third phrase having two 6/8 measures then a 3/8 measure. Around 45 seconds in, it becomes an alteration between 6/8 and 10/8 once more. 1:02, it seems to have some 7/8 in there? I can't even figure that portion out to when it changes to 4/4 at 1:25.
Daybreak Ridge starts in 5/4, but then the bells comes in at 3/8 on the 15 second and 29 second mark. 51 second mark changes to 4/4 with a 2/4 measure near the end of that segment of strings. 54 seconds in and it just gets confusing, but at least sticks to a #/4 theme.
Orche Quarry is fairly simple 4/4 in the beginning, but at the 28 second mark... That's when things get fun. With all the crashing cymbals, I keep losing my timing. I attempted to use a metronome to help out, but even that didn't help me figure out the time signatures there. 52 seconds, it changes to 3/4 until it reaches the transition back to the beginning, changing into 4/4, so that's pretty easy.
And Holehills... This is another fun one. The beginning part is completely meshed with multiple time signatures of #/8. But at 29 seconds, it changes to 6/8, then changes to 5/8 at 1:04 with an 8/8 transition measure. It's just that beginning part that's really messing with me.
Pretty much all the time signatures I'm struggling with in the medley. The others I'm planning for this medley are much easier. But for these songs, I would appreciate any help you could give.
