So what was your First Pokémon game? What are your opinions on the newer games? And because I hate asking questions without having an answer myself.
First Game: Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team OPINION: I'm a fan of what Nintendo and Game Freak does, I don't care how much they change they'll always be great. ...but lets face it they have to run out of designs some day right?

First game I played was Pokemon Pearl, which was what initially got me into the franchise. I think that Pokemon, as it's always been, is still headed in the right direction. X&Y was a huge leap forward, and ΩRαS was a great remake. However, I was pretty bummed out to see Spike-Chunsoft+Nintendo announce a new Mystery Dungeon game that isn't going to be Pokemon this time around. Nonetheless, I've gotten pretty attached to the Pokemon franchise, and I'll hang on to them as long as they keep doing what they do.

Played Yellow back in 1999 as my first pokemon game, the last one was White 2 because I really couldn't get into the franchise.

My first Pokémon game was Pokémon Ruby Version around the time of its release.
My love for Pokémon has really just been on and off lately. It all started with Pokemon Black 2. I bought the game a little later than its release and even then I got pretty bored of the game. I believe the reason why I can't play that game much anymore is because of the really stupid Poké cinema gimmick they tried to shove in there.
X and Y got me back into the hype. It was a great leap into the 6th generation and it had me playing for hours on end. But the lack of aftergame content really got me bored of the game after a while. And same with ORAS. When I first got that game I was playing about 6 hours a day until I beat the game. The Delta Episode was amazing, though but no battle frontier? D:
I don't think I will ever get bored of Pokémon, however. No matter how old I get, or how old the franchise itself gets. I hope it will still be around for a while.

I got into the actual games kinda late. When I was a kid, I just watched the show and collected the cards (I never played with them though) because it was really in at the time. I honestly didn't care about the games because first of all, I didn't own Gameboy and I can't remember that any of my friends owned one either.
First game experience I clearly remember was that I played Pokémon Emerald on GBA in Das' house. That game was amazing and it still is my favorite till today. I think the first Pokémon game I owned myself was Pokémon Platinum when I bought DS first time. It took me a good while to beat it but because of that I really got into Pokémon. I bought HeartGold and both Black and White too beat them. I kinda lost interest in White 2 and I never beat it. I tried to play it while doing my military service but it just didn't hit me that well. I kinda enjoyed XY; I think some of the updates were pretty good but the lack of challenge (and no, I didn't use Exp. Share) and post game kinda lamed the experience I think. I bought Alpha Sapphire when it was released in Europe but I haven't touched it in a month now and I've only played it for 12 hours. I never got into it. It didn't feel like RSE remake to me, it felt like XY in Hoenn. I think I've kinda lost my interest in the game theirselves too but then again, they've never been my number one favorite games anyway.
So, the first game I played was Emerald and I still find that as the most enjoyable Pokémon game, next to Platinum and HeartGold.

My first game ever was Pokemon Emerald, and I've had most other games after that except X or Y. I love ORAS to death, though now that I've beaten the game I find myself doing more flying around on Latios and finding secret bases, and also starting my first experience with breeding and the GTS, than actually training. Heh... I like the franchise except for the fact that it sometimes feels more formulaic than even the Legend of Zelda series, which I love (but is kinda infamous for its monotonous recipe of gameplay). While there's ways new regions to explore and stuff, I do think designs are beginning to be exhausted. That one pokemon from gen 6 based off of a key ring? Things like that just make me cringe. Other than that, I have tons of fun playing pokemon. And if I ever get tired of battling, there's always Mystery Dungeon or Pokemon Ranger ;D

My first game was Diamond. I used to HATE Gen 4 (Curse you victory road and mount coronet GAH) but now when I look back...call it nostalgia or something, but there's this charm that the game has that I just can't get enough of, especially in the music. I know most tracks by heart and I can picture the composer pouring his heart out when he's making them. Not to mention it's got jazz, my favorite genre as well. Overworld themes tend to be amazing back then. Now it's all about battles.
Black/White was almost as good. I like the BW2 change, and the music is overall quite diverse and sweet, albeit a bit less memorable and strong in comparison to some themes from DPPt. It has a great story though, imo. I like Gen 5 overall.
Then came X and Y. Ooh boy, other than the 3D upgrade almost everything was a step down. Music was soulless, story wasn't as decent (though still alright on its own), and just...it felt even more kiddy than before. I never thought that'd be possible in a Pokemon game. Playing through ORAS, I hope things would pick up again soon.

Welp, I guess it's my turn in story-telling. As a kid, I've always loved Pokémon, as I observed my older brother and friends play their Game Boys and future DSs; though I never got the chance to play for myself until later on. My "first" Pokémon game (when I knew what I was doing, that is) was Pokémon Diamond. Loved it to bits (most of my favorite Pokémon are based around Gen 4 xD), enjoyed the music, and it just sticks to me. I played Platinum after. After that, I think I've never played much else but Pokémon. Got SoulSilver, Black and Black 2, Y, and finally Omega Ruby. I enjoyed all of 'em, and I'm getting into competitive battling (still getting into it, but hey, it's a start). For downsides/rolling downhill/whatever you wanna call it, XY did get me into competitive, but in-game content did lack a little. Omega Ruby helped get me back into Pokémon games in general, buuuut I've been struggling to breed without Ditto and PokéBank, so I stopped for a while (though I did get some breeding done, so back to battles for me! (hopefully)). I think that's about it; I've blabbered enough. Hopefully you enjoyed this little "story" of my experiences with Pokémon games! ~Floof

Jeez and I thought Gen IV was relatively unloved. Turns out there's more fans than I expected.

The first games I played were Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, mainly Sapphire though. 3rd gen has always and always will have a special place in my heart since it's what got me interested in gaming, and thus music. The region itself is just beautiful and the music is remarkable. I don't really dislike any generation, it's just I like some more than others. I tend to enjoy any Pokemon game, since it doesn't take much really to entertain me xD. In all seriousness, I do love everything about Hoenn from the intriguing storyline to even the anime.

My first Pokémon game was FireRed and there's a little bit of a story behind it:
I must have been 4 or 5 when when one of my friends at the time brought someone over with them to my house and he was playing FireRed. All I knew was that the cartridge was red so I had to have it but I never asked him what it was for some reason. The next day I walk outside onto my front porch and I see FireRed underneath a chair! I picked it up and then I went back inside to play it.
So if you were wondering: Yes, I technically did steal it from the poor kid but I was never asked about it so it was their loss (and my win).

I started with Pokémon Gold in the Johto region. I started with Cyndaquil and I'll admit that the backsprite looked really funky to me. I'm so sad though that I lost it five years later though.

My first Pokemon game was Pokemon Blue back when it first released in the US. Loved it, but then hit a period where I stopped playing after Crystal for a few years then tried playing Ruby and it didn't really click....UNTIL Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Blue Rescue Team came out. Ever since then I've been hooked on Pokemon games ever since and loved all the main series games and never passed on any of the PMD games.
I can't say there was a Pokemon game that I didn't like...maybe the original Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald to me or Pokemon Ranger. I love pretty much any Pokemon games now and always have good expectations on future games.
If I were to pick and choose a favorite it would be Mystery Dungeon hands down. Hey, Mystery Dungeon is the series that gave me the push I needed back then to get back into the series. PMD Blue Rescue Team, Explorers of Darkness and Explorers of Sky, and Gates to Infinity. All great games as are the main series games. Looking forward to what comes next as well (besides Pokken Tournament).

Diamond was my first game, and I loved Platinum and HGSS as well (and Sky, can't forget Sky!) I lost interest about halfway through Black, and dropped it at the E4. But after I got Y I started to get back into the series, finished Black and picked up Black 2, which I loved. It's kinda funny actually, as a kid I hated Pokémon. I don't know why, I barely even knew what it was! Then after a m8 of mine told me what it was actually about, I did a complete 180
